UFC 127’s Pearson vs. Fisher on ESPN in U.K., no “UFC Prelims” on Spike TV

U.K. fight fans will be able to watch next month’s UFC 127 preliminary-card bout between British fighter Ross Pearson and fellow lightweight Spencer Fisher.  The UFC UK’s office today confirmed the plans via its Twitter account, though an official told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) details for the live ESPN U.K. broadcast still are being finalized.

Another source told MMAjunkie.com that in the U.S., Spike TV won’t carry a “UFC Prelims” special in conjunction with the Feb. 27 event.  UFC 127 takes place at Acer Arena in Sydney Olympic Park in Australia. The night’s main card airs live on pay-per-view in the U.S. (on Feb. 26 in its normal Saturday-night timeslot due to the time difference) and ESPN in the U.K.

The UFC and Spike TV recently announced that 12 “UFC Prelims” specials will air this year on the organization’s longtime cable partner. UFC 127 won’t be one of them, but the organization could go an alternate route, such as UFC.com, Facebook or ION Television, which all recently aired preliminary-card fights.
