Non-Televised Prelim Fights Play-by-Play via  MMAJunkie.com

Round 1 – Referee Herb Dean in the cage for the evening’s first preliminary bout. Pierce takes the center after a touch of gloves. Jabs traded early, and each miss on big right hands. Robertson lands to the body, but Pierce fires off a combination and rushes into a front headlock position. Robertson on his knees, and his butt is against the cage. He rises, and Pierce drops for a single. He pulls Robertson to his butt and drives in. Robertson works from a sitting position. Robertson underhooks on the right side and tries to turn Pierce over, but he can’t out-muscle his foe. Robertson works to his feet, and we’re halfway into the opening round. Short knees traded inside, but Pierce continues to push in from the outside. Robertson’s knees have a little more zip, and he finally circles off the cage. He doesn’t stay there long, as Pierce reverses. It’s a stalemate, and Dean calls for a restart with 90 seconds left. Pierce immediately drives in again on the restart. Both guys create room to strike inside. Robertson again appears to have a touch more zip in his strikes, but Pierce slows things down by driving in. Knees again by both, and Pierce elevates Robertson for a takedown in the final seconds. Round ends there. Not too much to score, but MMAjunkie.com gives the first to Pierce, 10-9.

Round 2 – Robertson takes the center this time. They trade in the center, but Pierce lands the best shot with a left hook to the chin, and Robertson hits the deck. Pierce pounces immediately. Robertson tries to defend with his legs, then rolls to his knees to avoid the heavy punches that are coming. He can’t recover, though, and Dean calls a stop to the bout. Mike Pierce def. Note: Emcee Bruce Buffer announces the result as a “knockout,” but Robertson never lost consciousness.

Round 1 – Referee Steve Mazzagatti in charge of this light heavyweight affair. Chants of “Kingsbu” come from a corner of the building. Kingsbury shifts side to side on the outside. Romero pushes forward early behind a big overhand, but Kingsbury clinches up and starts firing knees to the body and arms. Romero pulls away, but Kingsbury blasts him with a left straight. Romero hits the deck. Kingsbury still pounding away, as Romero turtles, and Mazzagatti jumps in to call the fight. Kyle Kingsbury def. Ricardo Romero via TKO (punches) – Round 1, 0:21.

Round 1 – Referee Kim Winslow calls the evening’s final dark match. Ruediger misses an early low kick and gets tagged but a Taylor combination. Taylor fires off another flurry, and his hands look very quick early. Taylor press in against the cage, but Ruediger spins off and reverses the position. Both jockey for position, but the pull away. Taylor landing pinches over the top, and the crowd loves it. Ruediger absorbing the blows, but Taylor looks crisp early. Ruediger firing back, but he’s not getting the best of it. Into the clinch again. Taylor pressing in two minutes into the round. Ruediger tries to pull Taylor over his hip, but the Brit pushes Ruediger off and lets him hit the floor. Taylor walks away, and they reset on the feet. Quick clinch again, and Ruediger is driving Taylor against the cage. Ruediger drops for a single leg, but Taylor remains upright. Pace stalling a bit as the two work for position in the clinch against the cage. Winslow calls for a restart with a little less than a minute remaining. Ruediger fires a low kick, but it’s Taylor again connecting upstairs. Ruediger catches a front kick and tries to push Taylor down, but he can’t. Quick flurry again from Taylor in the closing seconds, and he takes the round on the MMAjunkie.com card, 10-9.

Round 2 – Taylor immediately rocks Ruediger with his powerful punch combinations. Ruediger is trying to fire back, but not with much zest. Taylor lands a solid leg kick then presses Ruediger into the fence again. They trade knees for a time before Taylor lights Ruediger up with right hooks, then drops him with a left kick square in the face. Paul Taylor def. Gabe Ruediger by KO (Kick) at 1:42, R2
