Ranking the Strikeforce heavy reserves

Strikeforce‘s World Grand Prix Heavyweight Tournament kicks off Saturday at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J. Two of the tournament’s quarterfinal matches are scheduled for this weekend’s event — Fedor Emelianenko (31-2) meets Antonio Silva (15-2) and Andrei Arlovski (15-8) takes on Sergei Kharitonov (17-4).

Additionally, six more heavyweights will clash in tournament reserve bouts. Each winner will become eligible to fill in as an alternate in the event any member of the 8-man tournament is forced to pull out. Considering the length of the Grand Prix and the inevitable injuries associated with mixed martial arts, it’s not unlikely at least one of the reserves will find his way into the competition.
