UFC Champ Georges St. Pierre In Toronto Today

UFC champ and fan favourite Georges St. Pierre will be in Toronto on Tuesday. He and Jake Shields are in town to promote their upcoming welterweight bout, which will take place on April 30 at the Rogers Centre.

Also on the card, featherweight title-holder Jose Aldo of Brazil takes on Mark (The Machine) Hominick of Thamesford, Ont.

Dubbed UFC 129, it’s the first Ultimate Fighting match to be held in Toronto. The UFC expects the Toronto show to set a North American attendance record for a mixed martial arts, as well as a world-record gate for an MMA show.

Tickets go on sale February 12 and will range from $300-$800 on the floor and $50-$225 in the stands. But if you’re a member of the UFC Fight club, you can get your tickets on February 11. The general public can buy the tickets starting Feb. 12. But first crack will go Feb. 10 to members of the UFC Fight Club, a fan organization UFC newsletter subscribers will get their chance on Feb. 11.
