UFC 127: “Penn vs. Fitch” Fight Card Once Again Finalized

After the injury bug came swooping in to take Carlos Condit out of his welterweight shootout with Chris Lytle, Octagon brass started scrambling for a last-minute replacement to complete their “UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch” roster. As expected, Brian Ebersole has agreed to step in at the 11th hour to meet Lytle inside the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.

Most major UFC shows feature 11 bouts, six dark matches and five that will air on television. However, because the Aussies love them some MMA, the promotion decided to reward them for their record-tying sellout performance by offering an additional preliminary fight.

A top contender welterweight scrap between former champion BJ Penn and Jon Fitch will headline the company’s return to the land down under.

The pay-per-view broadcast will air live in North America on Saturday, February 26th at 10PM ET/7PM PT.

Here is the official UFC 127 roster and bout order:

Main Bouts:

  • BJ Penn vs. Jon Fitch
  • Jorge Rivera vs. Michael Bisping
  • George Sotiropoulos vs. Dennis Siver
  • Chris Lytle vs. Brian Ebersole

    1. Promising lightweight prospective client Charles Oliveira tells Tatame (via Fighters Just) that he made a costly mistake at UFC 124 against Jim Miller. A mistake that place the first loss on Oliveira’s formerly perfect mixed martial arts record. The Brazilian left himself susceptible to a knee bar and Miller capitalized on it, putting a finish to the contest in less than 2 minutes of the first round.
