Soares: “Whatever UFC puts in front of us, we’ll take!”

“It was like he pulled something out of a video game and did it inside of the Octagon…he trained that kick a lot. He’s been training that kick for a long time and, like he said, Steven Segal came in and helped him to perfect it and sure enough, he ended up using it…whatever the UFC decides to put in front of us, we’ll take! We just want to be involved with big fights and the Georges St. Pierre fight would definitely be a big fight,” stated manager Ed Soares as he talked about Anderson Silva’s impressive first round knockout of Vitor Belfort at UFC 126. PC: Congratulations on the huge win that Anderson had on Saturday night. I’m sure you are more than happy with that performance.
ES: Ah man, what do I have to say about that, man? It was like he pulled something out of a video game and did it inside of the Octagon.

PC: Was that kick something that you had seen him train or were you just as surprised as the rest of the world?
ES: Yeah, he trained that kick a lot. He’s been training that kick for a long time and, like he said, Steven Segal came in and helped him to perfect it and sure enough, he ended up using it. He trained it a lot and about 2 minutes before the fight, all of the coaches were saying, “Hey, throw that kick; it will land.” He did and it landed.
