Fedor’s eye healing well (Pic)

Fedor Emelianenko’s eye has opened up at last and is well on its way to recovery.

The orbital bone was not fractured as previously feared and the Russian heavyweight is not having to wear protective gauze or padding on it.

A current picture of the eye was posted today by Igor Karaev, a friend of the M-1 group that Fedor is part of (below).

Fedor’s right eye was fully closed in the fight with Antonio Silva at the first bracket of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix earlier this month.

The fight was stopped on doctor’s orders and Fedor went 0-2 for the first time in his career. There was retirement talk immediately after the fight but that might have been emotions talking; some days afterwards Fedor confirmed he would fight again.
