Strikeforce: Heavyweight grand prix delayed until June

Strikeforce has confirmed that the second part of its heavyweight grand prix tournament is being postponed.

Originally slated for April, the two remaining quarter-final matches are now going to take place on June 18th.

“The overwhelming success in New Jersey set the bar high. With a record pre-sale for Strikeforce tickets and a record viewership on Showtime, we’ve now given ourselves the proper amount of time to promote in one of the country’s biggest markets,” Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker told MMA Junkie.

Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum and Josh Barnett vs. Brett Rogers are the two remaining matches. They are now set to take place in Dallas, Texas at the American Airlines Center.
