ESPN Poll Results: Majority of people think Diego’s fight was “crazy” not courageous.

UFC welterweight contender Diego Sanchez (23-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC) may be crazy, but he made it to ESPN.

The self-billed “worldwide leader in sports” addresses the occasional MMA topic, and Sanchez’s thrilling win over Martin Kampmann (17-5 MMA, 8-4 UFC) at Thursday’s UFC on Versus 3 event was notable enough to feature prominently on the all-sports channel.

On Friday’s edition of “SportsNation,” the daily fan-driven program hosted a poll entitled “Bloody Beatdown” asked a simple question: Was Sanchez’s performance courageous or crazy. The results were mixed but leaned towards the insane end of the spectrum.

In total, 55 percent of the response labeled Sanchez’s bloody victory, in which he was dropped in the first round and continually battered and bruised for the final two – yet still earned a unanimous-decision win – as crazy.

“SportsNation” host Michelle Beadle suggested that it takes a little bit of crazy for anyone to step in the cage.
